CF Montréal delivered one of the most dramatic performances of the MLS weekend after defeating Orlando City SC 2-0 with two late stoppage-time goals at Stade Saputo.
After more than 90 minutes of a tightly contested and scoreless match, Montréal finally found the breakthrough in the 90+4 minute when Mexican forward Daniel Rios scored to give the home side the lead and ignite the crowd.
The celebrations continued moments later as Icelandic midfielder Dagur Dan Thorhallsson added a second goal in the 90+8 minute, securing an emotional and important victory for Montréal.
The win moves CF Montréal into 12th place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 12 points, giving the Canadian club valuable momentum heading into the next stage of the season.
Montréal will now shift its focus to an important matchup against the Portland Timbers on May 13 as they continue their push up the Eastern Conference table.
